Very good place to stay in NYC, I stayed for 5 nights: very friendly and helpful innkeeper, nice and clean room and bath, close to subway station. I would book again!
Very nice room!, the house is quite charming, the room spacious and comfortable, and Ian, the host, is attentive and helpful. I had a very pleasant stay!
Nice stay in an old Harlem Mansion, I stayed at Harlem Victorian B&B for 4 nights. The house is stunning and so is the room. You can really have a feel for the 'old' Harlem. It is perfectly located: one block away from the metro. Ian makes you feel at home and has everything to make your stay comfortable: wifi, breakfast... Highly recommended for those who wanna explore uptown NYC
A place to stay in New York, Harlem Victorian is a very good place to stay in New York. Very well located, at walking distance from central Park, in a very quiet and safe part of the big town, very close to quick lines of the subway. The House is a fine piece of architecture, very well managed by Ian. He is the person you need to meet when you have a question and also if you have none. New York is fine but it is better if you are staying at Harlem Victorian. Christian, France, 2011 October
Great place and amiable host, stayed two nights in September at the Harlem Victorian B&B and enjoyed it. The host, Ian, was very helpful with advice about places to go and simply simpathetic. Location in Harlem is quiet and yet very close to public transport and downtown.
Wonderful Experience, If you want to go to NYC, I strongly recommend you this B&B. It have very convenient transportation condition: 3 main subway stations along the 125th street can easily take you to anywhere in the city. Its owner, Ian, the most welcoming, kind, nice person will provide you a real home feeling stay in the city! Furthermore, Ian understands the city and its history so that you get chance to immerse yourself in NYC, try to be a New Yorker! I spend 4 fantastic days here and Ian helped me a lot! I aslo want to mention that, this apartment is really of the style that you look from the picture, which is my favorite, the Victorian style! Aside from this, Ian is very considerate that he put coffee& coffee maker, hot water boiler, delicate tea cup, and a whole box of selection of tea!! Wonderful New York, Wonderful Stay with Ian. I will definitely go back again!
Perfect place, We spent 4 fantastic days at Harem Victorian B&B. Apart from the fact that the rooms were very clean and extremely comfortable, the perfect breakfast and the convenience of public transport, we were struck by the kindness of Ian, his availability and his knowledge of Harlem. The Victorian building, with its steep staircases and creaky floors, the high ceilings and two cute cats is really beautiful, perfectly matching the neighborhood of Harlem. This place is realy a perfect place to stay in NYC.
Fantastic, I have to say this is a fantastic place to stay and Ian is a welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable host. If you're travelling to NY you're probably overwhelmed with where to stay and why. Harlem gives you a different perspective on NY, but still within a short subway ride to all the tourist sites. Harlem is bustling, vibrant and 'real', plus Ian's provided lovely accommodation for very reasonable prices. The breakfast is excellent and the room is exceptionally clean. This place has real character, my only extremely small gripe would be the air conditioner in the room takes a while to get going, but this is probably more because I'm a Scot staying in NY in September rather than a critical comment! Overall, would definitely stay here again. Ian has a lot of knowledge about NY and Harlem in particular (and believe me it's a fascinating place). Good connections to JFK and LG. Excellent service! Extremely competitive prices. Fantastic.
Accommodating, friendly and quaint B&B, Ian was extremely responsive and accommodating while inquiring and booking a bed and breakfast; faster and more friendlier than any others that I contacted in the area. Upon arrival I was greeted promptly and cheerfully welcomed to the quaint and historic Harlem Victorian B&B. The stairs have a little creak to them, the water needs to run before warm, but it is all part of the homey feel that made me so happy to stay here, and his cats too! Ian is very accommodating and knowledgeable of NYC and Harlem with great tips and advice in the city. The breakfast was tasteful and plentiful with an in-room coffee maker, and a personal bathroom a few feet from the door made getting ready in the morning a breeze. A quick walk to places of interest and the subways, make no mistake by choosing Harlem Victorian B&B.
At home in Harlem, The bed and breakfast is in a brownstone near restaurants in the heart of Harlem, easy walking distance to the subway. The host is very welcoming and accommodating. The house is being restored to its original state after years as an SRO; it is attractive but a bit rough in places. The bathroom is on the hall. There are two cats who like to visit, if you let them in.
